SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant? Do you feel comfortable working with children who have complex special educational needs?

Teaching Personnel are currently in partnership with a Mainstream Primary School in the St Helens area, who are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant, who can support Special Educational Needs pupils in Year 1 and Year 2. The role would be working one to one with 2 individual pupils, one in Year 1 and one in Year 2, on a full time long term basis. The pupils both have diagnosed ASD (autism) and have challenging behaviour, so the ideal candidate will have strong behaviour management and the ability to adjust learning styles to suit the pupils. You will be working with one pupil of a morning, and the other of an afternoon.

The role will be full time starting in March 2020, and will continue until the end of the academic year in July 2020. For the ideal candidate, a permanant contract could be offered, until the pupils leave the school when they reach Year 6.

The ideal Candidate:

* Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a school environment
* Experienced working alongside children with special educational needs
* Experience working with individuals with autism
* Confident dealing with challenging behaviour
* Good command of written and spoken language
* Patient and supportive manner

The school has parking on site, and is accessible via public transport.
