Fantastic award-winning Gastro Pub based near Tonbridge in Kent looking for a passionate Sous Chef to join their successful permanent kitchen team, genuine fresh food and creative menu environment. Own reliable transport is essential, no live-in.

Each venue offers the statutory gastro pub classic at the core of its menu, however the opportunity to bring in creative, new modern or classic items is actively encouraged.

The venue works with locally sourced fresh food, offering a range of menu items with various cuisine influences, with some venues offering distinct smoked items at reasonable prices.
You will work in a genuine award-winning venue to be nurtured and developed, supported by an experienced onsite Head Chef and the trusted Roving Executive and Sous Chef team.

Key Features of the Role:
The successful Sous Chef will be able to carry out the following responsibilities and tasks, be trusted to produce good quality branded and seasonal menu items consistently.
Your positive attitude and aptitude will boost the brigade's ability to produce food it can be proud of and worthy of its reputation and award-winning accolades.
All food is prepared on site using locally sources ingredients possible, from carefully sourced suppliers, treating each dish created with the same level of respect and passion.
Assisting and standing in for the Head Chef to help support the team in all aspects of the kitchen, including training, gross profit margins, stock control and hygiene.
Working full time 5 days per week as a trusted Sous Chef, covering straight and split shift work patterns as the kitchen team requires.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Sous Chef.
Worked in a similar Gastro Pub or restaurant-based environment full time, and able to work both straight and split shifts in a busy kitchen environment.
Either professional catering qualification or certificates would be ideal, however proven employment tenures and career development will be considered as an alternative.
Experience in a fresh food preparation and cooking is preferred, however consideration will be given to Chefs wanting to make the step up from 50/50 frozen food service.
Passionate attitude able to show a positive attitude in the kitchen, as you may be asked to step outside of your comfort zone, to learn new dishes, techniques and cuisine influences.
Must have your own transport to get to site as there are no reliable public transport links.

What's on Offer?
The Sous Chef role pays �21K - �26K as a basic annual salary.
Tips (on average �80 per week) + Discretionary Bonus + Staff Loyalty Bonus Scheme.
Full time permanent working hours of 45 per week, 5 days per week, 28 days holiday.
