This is a full time role, working hours 37.5. Candidates will need to be fully flexible to work these hours.

The role is Managing all services. This includes Porters, Domestics and Catering. This is very much a working Supervisor role. These shifts are very busy and full on.

Main ResponsibilitiesPrepare rotas and ensure that there is adequate staff on duty to cover all department areas for the day, evening and night shift working patterns.

To ensure weekly checks are also carried out within Catering as per company procedure.
Ensure that all colleague training records are kept up to date.
To man the main reception Desk when required, assisting members of the public and dealing with enquiries including telephone enquiries within the Portering department. This involves use to the computerized patient records.
To respond to Fast Bleep (2222) incidents as described in the relevant policies, such as Fire, Management of Violence.  Provide escort or safety checks for lone workers in the Hospital.  Assist in searches for missing patients as requested.
To monitor and assess individual portering performances reporting as requested to the Logistics Manager


Carry out required inspections including and not limited to quality control, catering audits and porter audits.
Liaise with Heads of Departments, Ward Sisters and Housekeeping Coordinators (where required), to discuss any service issues, dealing with them accordingly and reporting back to the Duty Manager.
To assist with the helpdesk facility by taking calls, reporting jobs and monitoring performance

The Ideal Candidate
Minimum of 2 years Facilities supervisory experience in a medium – large operation.
Supervising large teams 
Experience dealing with rotas and staff reviews
Experience carrying out cleaning inspections 
Good communication and customer service skills.
Strong IT, administrative and organisational skills.
Working knowledge of Health and Safety/Infection control.
High standards and be quality driven.
Auditing experience would be advantageous.
Flexible to work 5 days including weekends
