We have an exciting opportunity to join our team on a student placement as an Events Coordinator. As the Event Coordinator, you will manage and convert all enquiries and deliver the brand standards of outstanding customer service. This is the ideal student placement for someone who is studying event management. Whilst completing the placement, you will learn to understand all aspects of event creation from enquiry to event planning, including knowledge of food, service and delivery, the candidate will use their experience to tailor events to the client’s requirements.

The role will be based at the Bateaux in London but there is a requirement to work at different London sites when required.

Job DescriptionUp to £20,000 + benefits
Main Responsibilities
To be the first point of contact for event enquiries by drawing up quotations, proposal documents and providing clients with any other relevant information
Ensuring all enquiries are contacted in the first instance within 1 working day.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, encouraging trust and loyalty to the venue, thus cultivating accounts.
Meet and greet clients the day of event before guests’ arrival to check the agenda and confirm all event details
Record all sales activity and booking status using Optimo system to ensure the system is utilized to its full potential.
Provide weekly bookings report to the Events Manager and General Manager
Delivering events at brand standards of outstanding customer service

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively on both an oral and written basis with all external and internal clients, accredited suppliers, and occasionally with security, housekeeping, accounts and agency staff involved in working on events.
Computer literacy in work processing, spread sheets and database programmes and show willingness to learn new systems e.g. new events booking system being implemented.
