About the Company:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Application Support Manager to join their T Team.

Our client are currently transforming the way they deliver IT within our client and looking to improve how they deal with ther customers both internally and externally. This newly created role will help deliver this transformation.

This role is based in their modern office near Hamilton Square in Birkenhead. It is well served by public transport and free parking is also available if required.

Application Support Manager Responsibilities:

* Support projects at various stages during the application delivery life cycle and transition through to the live service.
* Ensure that the appropriate standards of governance and information security are maintained, promoted and adhered to throughout the Applications Support team.
* Build trusting relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers.
* 4Provide expertise to the team on the methods and tools needed to deliver change through the relevant applications.
* Ensure required technical upgrades and maintenance are scheduled, working closely with the relevant internal teams and the relevant 3rd party vendor.
* Responsible for managing the performance of 3rd party vendors against contractual obligations and SLA's.
* Identifies opportunities to leverage new tools and capabilities within the agreed Application systems to add value to the business and customer.
* Responsible for driving and managing workload/deliverables of the team to time and quality.

Application Support Manager Requirements:

* At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
* ITiL foundation or higher
* Strong delegation and interpersonal skills
* Significant demonstrable experience of managing and motivating staff including setting performance targets and standards, conducting appraisals and identifying training needs
* Contract management of third-party suppliers including negotiation of contract conditions with suppliers
* Experience of implementing and adapting effective standards and governance around Application Support
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
* Capable of taking a "hands on "approach if required
* Occasional requirement to work out of hours, or during holiday periods, to meet the demands of the service
