Do you have Asset Management experience with a background in Engineering or Hard FM Services? Do you have a commercial understanding and a technical mindset? If so, we would love to hear from you as we have an exciting opportunity for a personable Asset Manager to join our team at Merville Barracks, Colchester.

As Asset Manager working within our Technical Services team, you'll develop and maintain an accurate, compliant and detailed planned maintenance programme and asset register giving due consideration to Sodexo’s contractual and legislative requirements and utilising the deployed Management Information System.

You'll be called upon for expert technical advice and to provide technical specifications and scopes of works for pricing purposes, to support and deliver projects and variations. You'll also provide technical audit capability within the technical services department, taking ownership of local operating procedures and compliance standards.

This position will suit an experienced Hard Services or Technical FM Manager who is a practical thinker with strong interpersonal skills. You’ll be able to prioritise workload and take ownership to drive service excellence within your area, being able to challenge with humility and be challenged where required.

 
Job Description£45,000 - £48,000 per annum + benefits

Main Responsibilities
Contribute towards the Estates Maintenance Strategy and subsequent implementation
Ensure that all assets are accurately captured within the management information system
Produce an accurate asset register utilising all available information including operations and maintenance manuals
The updating of the asset data in a timely manner as required following completion of projects, lifecycle replacement or works
Provide authorisation for Life Cycle perusal
Identify and develop business cases for technical project and life cycle replacement works
Develop technical specifications for projects work
Provide technical audit capability within the technical services department
Production and maintenance of a task library that takes into account all available information including but not limited to;

statutory requirements
operation and maintenance manuals
manufacturer’s recommendations
Industry best practice
SFG 20 and other mandated sources

The Ideal CandidateWhat’s essential:


Technical Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Familiarity with Building & Civil Engineering
Experience in scheduling and programming planned maintenance activities
IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent
Familiarity working within JSP 375 Safe Systems of Work
Experienced in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all levels within the organisation and with customers and clients
Ability to be an effective team player within a management team
Broad commercial experience and business acumen and knowledge of external industry developments


Where we can be flexible:


Familiar in utilisation of CAFM systems would be an advantage
Authorised Person in a relevant discipline would be an advantage
