An enthusiastic and hardworking Graduate Chemist is required from September 2020 at Warwick School. The position offers the opportunity to experience life in a busy and successful department. The candidate would work within a highly committed team of staff and intelligent, enthusiastic boys. The post would be useful in developing the candidate’s skills in teaching and delivering appropriate content. Opportunities to explore any area of research that would be relevant to extending the boys’ knowledge would be actively encouraged.ResponsibilitiesTeaching enrichment lessons to boys considering Chemistry as an undergraduate degreeHelp with leading projects in Science in Action (a research based activity for 6th formers that takes place one afternoon a week)To assist with lunchtime clubs and supervisionThe possibility of teaching GCSE and A level for suitable candidates who are interested in gaining QTSThe applicant would be responsible to the Head of ChemistryWe are keen to employ someone with a real passion for the subject who can convey this to the pupils. We recognise that the post is likely to appeal to someone in the process of completing their PhD so we would be very happy to work around other commitments.Personal QualitiesConscientiousness, enthusiasm and academic rigourUnderstands their role in the context of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.Ability to develop a rapport with pupils throughout the School.The application form is available from the school website www.warwickschool.org, or by clicking on \'Apply now\' and should be completed and returned to hr@warwickschools.co.uk.Responsibilities may be direct, joint or through devolved structures, but always in accordance with whole school policies.
