Our client is a major automotive manufacturer based in South of the UK. This is home to the European Powertrain Research and Development Centre.

Due to their continued growth they are seeking a Powertrain NVH Engineer to join their Powertrain team on a long-term rolling contract based in Essex.

Position Description:

This is a position for a powertrain NVH engineer in the as-installed NVH area covering mounts, fuel system, exhaust, intake and driveline

The engineer will be required to carry out the following tasks;

* Setting of component NVH targets
* Develop program plans for NVH sign-off powertrain component, involving Test and CAE work streams
* Co-ordinate rigs and vehicles for test
* Detailed analysis of the acquired noise and vibration data of prototype powertrains from rig or vehicle testing and compile the findings into standard reports
* Review test and CAE results in-depth with responsible program engineer provide design guidance
* Liaison with other departments and suppliers.

Skills Required:

* Solid engineering background
* Good written and verbal communication skills Leadership and drive in resolving issues
* Office IT skills

Skills Preferred:

* HeadAcoustics - Artemis and LMS experience
* MATLAB, advanced Excel
* Six Sigma, Minitab

Experience Required:

* Proven team working capability. Powertrain and NVH experience.

Experience Preferred:

* Prefer three years of NVH experience (not necessarily automotive). Some NVH test and CAE experience/awareness

Education Required:

* Engineering Degree 2.2 level or higher. Will look at graduates (Aero/Auto/Mech Eng'g), should have a final year project or work experience related to noise or vibration investigation.

Rates: Offering up to max �23 per hour (LTD / UMBRELLA) Based over 37.5 hours per week – INSIDE IR35
