Location: Field based/ National (ideally located in Oxfordshire).

Our client is one of the UK's leading suppliers of Timber and Panel products, complemented by a range of manufacturing services. They are dedicated to sourcing innovative timber products from around the world, driven by the demands of their customers.

The Role:

Joining their sales team, this role will focus on their merchant customer base by promoting our whole product range with responsibility for the growth of profitable sales in the following products:

* Hardwood Timber
* Flooring
* Manufactured Timber
* Composite Decking & Cladding
* Panel Products

Success will be achieved by proactively managing and developing existing accounts whilst researching and introducing new accounts.

The role will promote them as a solution provider across the merchant sector, focussed on developing an added value offering to fulfil customer requirements so that we are their supplier of choice.

Typical duties include:

* Develop and implement a clear, structured business plan to secure orders, maximise sales growth and secure long term relationships. Establish strong relationships with key decision makers.
* Partner with customers to provide product consultancy to:

* Identify products and solutions that will enable them to achieve their business objectives;
* Understand their business, market needs and environmental requirements;
* Help them to exploit market opportunities and, where possible, to identify new business challenges.

* Support campaigns and new product introduction by following up leads and promoting offers.
* Take full ownership for all aspects of Timbmet's dealings with the account.
* Work within a framework of targets for key indicators such as customer satisfaction and retention incorporating this into monthly activity reports.
* Provision of timely, accurate and useful information/reports on forecast sales, performance and proposed activities for any shortfall accounts.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

* A proven track record within the merchant sector.
* A strong sales background coupled with product, sector and customer knowledge.
* Proven negotiation skills and ability to successfully convert opportunities into profitable sales.
* Self-motivated to operate in a standalone role utilising excellent communication skills.
* Customer focused, results driven and tenacious.
* Ability to actively contribute ideas to support and creating selling propositions that stand out from competitors.
* A current UK driving licence is essential.

This is predominantly a field-based role so candidates should ideally be based near good motorway access to travel the UK preferably in or around the Oxfordshire area, however for the right candidate we will consider any location nationally.

Key locations could include but are not limited to Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire.
