Our UK pipeline and fuel operations Client is now seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader to join the team based in their site in Tamworth.

Position: Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader

Salary: �35,000 - �38,000 + Disturbance �7,044 Standby Allowance �2,221 (1 in 3) + Company Van

Acting as Team leader for a small team you will be involved with coordinating and supervising operational, maintenance and engineering project activities at allocated sites and pipelines within the allocated area for the mechanical maintenance team in accordance with company and statutory requirements.

The Role:

Providing maintenance and inspection services to achieve 98% plant availability targets.

Responsible for the delivery of planned and corrective maintenance and inspection tasks at allocated sites in accordance with set targets including the upkeep of the computerised maintenance management systems and plant history files.

Organise the workload for the Kingsbury, Tamworth mechanical maintenance team ensuring productive time is maximised and work requirements are met.

Act as a focal point for engineering projects having an input into all stages of the project ensuring works are planned and completed with due regard to requirements for safety and operations.

Act as Operating Authority and Level 2 permit authority supervising colleagues and contractors in safe systems of work, Including preparation of risk assessments and work procedures and issuing Mechanical Isolation Certificates and Gas Test Certificates. This includes working with 3rd party site operator systems as required to obtain necessary work permits.

Fulfil the role of Site Supervisor and Environmental Focal Point at allocated sites.

Obtain quotations and raise orders for goods and services required for maintenance and inspection responsibilities in accordance with the company purchasing system and budget constraints.

Provide training and support to new staff and subordinates updating training records, training plans and competency assessments as required.

Line supervision of direct reports in staff issues, agreed working hours and annual performance reviews.

Identify and prepare works scopes and justifications to modify or replace existing plant and equipment including preparation of Technical Change Requests and Budget Requests as required.

Identify requirements and monitor the availability of spare equipment, components and materials to ensure critical plant and equipment can be sustained in the event of foreseeable breakdowns.

Requirements for the role:


Qualification in relevant Mechanical or Engineering discipline to NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent

Experience within planning and maintenance on a mechanical plant and equipment.

Knowledge and experience within Oil & Gas industry or alternative hazardous process industry (Desirable)

Training or Experience within Health and Safety Regulations, COSHH, Confined space entry, lifting operations, pressure systems, working at height (Desirable)

Additional Information: Disturbance allowance covers 201-250 additional hours within the year.

Participate in 24/7 hour call out ever 3rd week

Travel to Additional sites Required – Company Van Provided.
