The Job

The company are looking for a Team lead (Electronics/Hardware) to join the successful business. The Engineering Team Lead will be mentoring, coaching and developing Electronics Engineers and may be undertaking a lead technical role within the project involving varied disciplines.

You will be working across a range of projects throughout various stages of the product lifecycle from initial concept development through to early life production support and on to support of existing fielded designs.

The Team Lead will be supporting the Head of Electronics Engineering and helping to develop the future direction of the Electronics function. You will ensure that the requirements of the project are met in a timely and efficient manner and act as the locally acknowledged expert within your field.

The Team Lead (Electronics/Hardware) will manage the team effectively, through planning, allocation and reporting of work in order to ensure team size and capability mix is optimised for successful delivery of the work package.

Important: All applicants must be able to obtain Security Clearance.

Skills Required:

* Technical Experience/ background in Electronics Engineering or Hardware Engineering.
* First or second degree (BSc, BEng, MEng, MSc, PhD, EngD) in Electronic Engineering (preferable) or related science (eg Physics) with preferably some specialisation in electronic techniques.
* Broad experience of the majority of the lifecycle phases.
* Broad experience of managing resources
* Experience of creating engineering plans ensuring successful delivery of the complete project
* Ability to influence and drive change with customers and suppliers, as well as influence and drive change within the business.
* Broad knowledge of tools and processes, used in the design, development and delivery of products.
* Strong digital circuity design including designs of boards using complex FPGAs
* Extensive experience of PCB development tools and process (preferably Mentor Graphics).


* Electro-Optics experience
* Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink.
* Design of engineering solutions taking into account all requirements such as product quality, safety, reliability and testability.
* Experience in cabling design, build and installation for land vehicles
* Experience of DFx (designing for cost, test and manufacturability)
* Experience in System level and sub-system integration and Debug.
