Youth Worker

Join a large secondary school in Manchester seeking to appoint a Youth Worker to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with students from September 2020. The successful Youth Worker will be assisting students with their academic and pastoral needs whether these are learning, SEN, behaviour or SEMH related.

The successful Youth Worker will support students in class as well as in small groups outside of the classroom to raise student attainment and progress. They will act as a positive role model to students across all year groups and will provide targeted behaviour support to individual students when required.

Previous experience working as a Youth Worker is preferred; however the school would consider applications from candidates with transferable experiences or skills, such as Sports Coaching or Tuition. Previous experience of supporting vulnerable or challenging young people is desirable. Alternatively the school would also welcome applications from graduates with psychology related degrees.
