The Headteacher at a mixed comprehensive secondary school located in the Wellingborough/Kettering area is seeking to appoint a full-time Design and Technology teacher from September 2020.

- Full-time Design and Technology teacher required for an open vacancy from September 2020. Initially offered for two terms with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract following this.

- Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent within Design and Technology.

- Applications are welcome from both experienced and newly qualified teachers as full support will be provided for the successful post holder.

- Pay in line with MPS/Ups GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490.

The Design and Technology department has recently seen a full refurbishment boasting access to state of the art resources within modern facilities. The department has fully equipped workshops, catering halls and open plan learning spaces. As the incoming Design and Technology Teacher you can expect to join a highly successful staff team and fully equipped department which are thoroughly enjoyed by pupils across Key stage 3 and 4. Design Technology is a very popular subject at KS4 with students. The department achieve consistently good results each year and have seen learners excel in Graphics, Resistant Materials, Art and Hospitality and Catering.

This is a full time, long term teaching position in a highly supportive Technology department for the duration of the upcoming academic year with the view being that the right candidate will progress onto a school based contract following an introduction through Teaching Personnel. The successful Design Technology teacher should be experienced in teaching Resistant Materials, Graphics and Textiles as well as having a general knowledge of the whole Design Technology department. This popular secondary school is one of the highest performing schools within Northamptonshire and received an award of recognition for value added education. In their most recent Ofsted, the school received an excellent report and was officially judged as a 'Good' school. Ofsted described the school as a highly motivated school where pupils are positive about their school life.

As the incoming Design and Technology teacher you will be required to;

- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons designed to foster a passion for the subject and develop skills pupils require to progress.

- Organising and setting up equipment and materials for practical lessons.

- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in line with monitoring, maintaining resources and equipment ensuring it meets all relevant requirements

- Operate and order materials, preparation and labelling of equipment and facilitate exhibition work.
