Primary Teacher - September 2020 - Special Needs

Two primary special needs schools in South East London (Southwark and Lewisham) are looking for teachers to join their teams in September2020. Given the current circumstances the schools are both offering video call interviews in the first instance.

The schools are both looking for either an experienced teacher or an NQT, although in either case, experience of teaching within special needs is essential.

* The intended classes are either mixed key stage 1 or mixed key stage 2
* The SEN at both schools is complex needs - including autism and speech and language difficulties
* You will be given a full timetable, including PPA time throughout the week
* You will be responsible for a small class of no more than 9 students, you will be supported by a HLTA and one or two TAs, and you will work collaboratively with the school therapy teams
* Both schools have excellent sensory facilities including dark and light sensory rooms, rebound therapy, hydrotherapy pool, gardens and forest school

Teaching Personnel can help to prepare you for September with a range of CPD courses available through our online CPD Academy. You will also be invited to take part in whole school INSET training days with the school. Although you will begin the academic year as a member of agency staff, you will have the opportunity to apply for a transfer to permanent contract with the school after the first term has been completed.
