Have you completed a TEFL, ESOL or CELTA qualification and have experience delivering English Language to individuals from a range of nationalities?

Teaching Personnel work closely with a range of Local Authority Clients who often support unaccompanied Asylum Seekers who are new to the UK and do not yet have a school place. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, there are many of these young people without a school place and no other education.

We are looking for tutors who can support these asylum seekers on a 1:1 basis to help develop their conversational English and English Language development, to prepare them for either school, college, or post 16 life in the UK. We look for tutors with the following:

* ESOL specialists with CELTA or other ESOL qualifications
* Experience working with individuals (children or adults) from a broad range of nationalities, with a particular interest in those who have worked with Saudi Arabian, Arabic, Iranian, Iraqi and Eastern European individuals
* Confident to differentiate to a wide range of learning needs and languages
* Able to work with disengaged, vulnerable pupils who may never have been to school and have significant gaps in their knowledge
* Able to support with helping students to develop cultural awareness including general life skills and how to live independently in the UK
* Confident to plan and deliver work on a 1:1 basis independently
* Able to provide weekly detailed feedback reports to monitor the progress of students, reporting back to the Local Authority
* Able to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams including Social Workers, Virtual School staff, Educational Psychologists, SENCOS and more

The referrals that we get from our clients are broad and varied, and require a diverse range of skills to work with each young person. We are looking for flexible, versatile individuals who are willing to go the extra mile to ensure their pupils receive the best possible education, whilst the Local Authority source alternative education provisions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
