A Senior Technology Leader is required to plan projects and lead teams selling and delivering software solutions within the Financial Services sector and driving growth across Front and Middle Office technology. This small financial services consultancy is looking to strengthen their tech service offering to their clients, and looking for someone to spearhead that development. The role will require someone with a strong technical background who is also comfortable with both the commercial elements of business as well as strategic business planning.

On projects, you will ensure appropriate allocation of tasks, identify risks and issues (either through personal experience or feedback from the team) and will actively manage progress, quality, dependencies and scope. You will need to provide a combination of direct contribution to technical work, oversight of teams of technical specialists and project planning. Through formal reporting and other daily interactions, as well as keep the board informed and provide transparency to the client.

Within pre-sales, the role involves working with Client Relationship Managers to identify suitable high value work, explore clients' requirements and qualify them sufficiently to develop compelling proposals for the services we provide. Other areas of responsibility will include working closely with resourcing to identify hiring needs in line with company growth, working to develop their teams' skills and talents with challenging work both on and off project, and providing advice, training and mentoring to all staff members.

Skills and Qualities

* Track record of successfully managing complex projects within the Wholesale Financial Services sector - Investment Banking, Insurance or Asset Management. Ideally including some time in a consulting context.
* A strong conceptual and practical experience of a broad range of technology applications as practiced in capital markets GSIB's proprietary technology
* Ability to provide market leading expertise/knowledge and insight during the sales process - via meetings and high-quality proposals
* Familiar with trade lifecycle and risk processes
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage against forecasts
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including authoring of business documents and presentations and chairing meetings with stakeholders of all levels
* Competency in Java EE
* Exposure to Big Data, NoSQL or grid programming
* Competency in C#, C++, ES5+ JavaScript and frameworks or Python
