Job Ref:

We have an exciting opportunity in one of our partner schools in East Lancashire!

The School caters specifically for pupils who can no longer remain in mainstream education, often due to their additional needs and / or challenging behaviours.

The School is smaller than average and based near Accrington, East Lancashire. The School currently has less than 100 pupils on roll, all male, aged between 10 - 17. Often the pupils in this school will display challenging behaviours, however, this can be down to their additional needs and/or mental health.

The School are looking to appoint an empathetic, experienced and nurturing teacher to specifically work in their nurture department, predominantly with KS3 pupils who have SEMH Difficulties, Anxiety and Autism. The teacher must have an understanding of working with pupils who have additional needs and a calm, yet resilient manner about them. The School is Ofsted graded 'Good' and their nurture department was commended in their most recent report. You would be joining a fantastic, hard working staff team and you'd be delivering a range of subjects to pupils who can often struggle to engage in education.

The teacher applying for this role must hold a teaching qualification and have experience or a passion for working with pupils who are harder to reach or have additional needs. The teacher must be confident, hard working, resilient and ideally, hold their team teach qualification, although this isn't essential.
