Are you a recent graduate aspiring to complete a teacher training programme in the future? Do you have previous experience working with children and young people in an educational setting?

If so, please see the details of our client school in Oldham, who are currently seeking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Learning Support Department from September 2020. This position is initially being offered on a temporary full time basis, for one term - with a longer term prospect available for the successful Graduate Teaching Assistant.

This position is well suited to a Graduate who has studied Psychology, Child Development, or a Core Subject: English, Mathematics or Science, and has previously worked with young people aged 11-16.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to work with identified pupils to promote positive behaviour management strategies, and motivational techniques to ensure they are engaged during lessons. You will work alongside the school SENCO to track individual progress made, along with having the opportunity to cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

With the opportunity to cover lessons, you will be able to build upon classroom management strategies that will strengthen your confidence prior to embarking upon teacher training.
