Given the current situatoin related to COVID-19, schools are continuing their recruitment drive, looking as far ahead as the new academic year. Bearing this in mind, Teaching Personnel are keen to speak to Tutors/Intervention tutors, who are able to work on a 1:1 basis with individuals, both within schools and away from the school site.

An opportunity has arisen for an Intervention Tutor, to help the progress of students requring additional support within the Tameside area. Tutors are required from September, in order to help pupils begin the new academic year.

The role will focus on:

* Developing a positive working relationship with the student in question.
* Providing continuous support and guidance when necessary.
* Delivering high quality sessions, designed to ensure that the learning process is made as accessible as possible.

The individual(s) you will be working with:

* Can often display challenging behaviours.
* May have SEN - thus, experience working with children with SEN is very desirable.
* Has the potential to achieve GCSE passes in the future.
* May often refuse to undertake any work set.
* May have problems engaging with the learning process.

It is essential that the required applicant can:

* Work to ensure that the student is engaging with the learning process.
* Implement strategies to obtain focus from the pupil.
* Work under pressure when necessary, as well as being able to display confidence and composure when managing the needs of the student.
* Deliver sessions that allow the student to think independantly.
* Offer empathy and compassion to students, as well as be sensitive to any issues that the student may be dealing with.
* Produce targets for students, that will enable them to track overall progress/attainment.
* Work towards acheiving goals for the pupil, both in the short and long term.
* Provide adequate and suitable feedback, in order to develop and readily improve student development.


* The role is located in Tameside, a short distance from Manchester city centre.
* The M60 motorway is within close proximity, as are several public transport links.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
