Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is adept at supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, for a secondary PRU in the Salford area.

The Pupil Referral Unit caters for KS4 not currently engaging in mainstream education but accessing vocational subjects and Maths and English GCSE's in the provision.

The PRU continues to be reported as 'Good' by Ofsted and is excited to report 75% of students leaving with both English and Maths GCSE's.

The Role
With this in mind, the head is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant who will help to maintain these standards of education and provide mentoring to students who are getting ready to leave secondary education.
The opportunity for Teaching Assistant is expected to continue until the end of the academic year with opportunity to take on a permanent contract come September.

A Teaching Assistant should be able to demonstrate proficiency in both Maths and English, and any vocational subject knowledge alongside this is a bonus.
You should have experience working alongside Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and ideally have worked in a school environment.
Experience in de-escalation such as Team-Teach or MAPA is not essential but definitely preferred, however training can be done through Teaching Personnel's CPD academy.

Teaching Assistants are expected to work between the hours of 8.30am-4pm Monday to Friday.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
