Primary School in Accrington

Teaching Personnel are seeking a teaching assistant who is proactive and has prior experience working within a primary setting. A Year 4 teaching assistant is required for September, within a primary school in Accrington. The position is available due to a member of staff retiring within school. You would be needed on a full time basis, Monday - Friday (8.45am - 3.30pm). The position is to start in September 2020 until December initially. The Head Teacher has said there may be an option for the role to become permanent. The school were looking to appoint a permanent member of staff in the summer term for this position however due to school closures they have decided to utilise a teaching assistant in school on a supply basis with the view to go onto a permanent contract. The Head Teacher has explained that they are looking for a Level 2 teaching assistant who can work effectively using their own initiative and improve standards under the leadership of the class teacher.

The school is average sized, with 28 pupils in the Year 4 class and the majority of children are working in line with the Age Related Expectations. You would be supporting the children during core and foundation subjects. In some afternoon sessions you may have the opportunity to work with small groups of children to provide intervention sessions - focusing on spelling, punctuation and grammar.
