Our People Are Our Greatest Resource

Production Supervisors (Polymers) - Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary - Competitive

At Viridor, we're one of the UK's leading recycling, renewable energy and waste management companies and part of the FTSE 250 Pennon Group. We put waste into action, transforming it into high quality recyclables, raw materials and energy and are at the forefront of the UK's green economy. We're undergoing rapid change and development which provides opportunities for those who are seeking a role to make their mark and drive forward a best in class performance.

We are set to open the UK's largest multi polymer plastic recycling plant in Avonmouth near Bristol and we are looking for 3 Production Supervisors to join our newly formed team.

Our new world class facility is expected to process 81,000 tonnes of PET, HDPE and PP plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays in its first year of operation, rising to 89,000 tonnes in year three. This will produce 60,000 tonnes of recycled plastic in year one, rising to 63,000 tonnes in year three.

Working alongside the Maintenance and Quality teams, the Production Supervisors will ensure that all production operations are undertaken efficiently and effectively, whilst complying with company policies and in line with the safe operating procedures. You will have a working knowledge of site licence requirements, working plans and duty of care regulations.

Leading a team of operatives, you will be responsible for the supervision of your direct supports and conduct performance reviews. As this is a new site, you will have the opportunity to assist with building a new team, so previous experience of supervision is key to this role.

Health and Safety is at the heart of everything we do, so it's essential that applicants for this role to have the AP421 Control of Hazardous Energy, PtW (control of contractors) and IOSH qualifications, as well as knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

In addition, we would welcome applications from candidates who have:

- Previous experience of a production or recycling environment
- Knowledge of waste recycling operations
- Experience in fixed plant operation
- Intermediate IT Skills
- Effective communication skills, at all levels.

At Viridor, we offer a competitive salary as well as excellent benefits including our pension scheme, healthcare, free eye test and safety eyewear where required alongside a number of flexible benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity in our fast-growing business to join, develop and drive forward this state of the art brand new facility and help Viridor become the market leader.
