Job Ref:

A school in LS8 (Roundhay) are looking for an Early Years specialist to take their Reception class on a full-time basis beginning next September. If you are looking for a long-term/permanent role then this could be the ideal role for you.

The Reception teacher is due to leave in July 2020, and the school have decided that they would like to contact us as an agency to find a replacement candidate. This is so that the school can keep the candidate on timesheets through the agency until February half-term, at which point they will offer the chosen candidate a permanent contract with the school should they get on well in this time. The school would like to do this as they like staff who are willing to stay at the school for the long-term, and this ensures that the candidate and school are a good match.

The school want someone who specialises in Early Years as it presents a unique set of challenges, and the school prides itself on its strong Phonics teaching and progress scores. The ideal candidate for this role will be familiar and experienced in Phonics teaching as well as guided play teaching techniques amongst other things. An engaging classroom presence is vitally important to the SLT as that is the tone they try and set throughout the school.

The school was rated as GOOD at their last inspection in 2016 and the head has endeavoured to maintain these standards and one day hopes to be graded as an OUTSTANDING school. Therefore, a teacher who is experienced working in Outstanding schools, with a track record of good progress in their classes is what the school is after. However, the Head is not averse to an NQT should their specialism be in Early Years, and their teaching style is strong above all else.

The role is full-time until at least February half-term 2021, so this role is ideal for any candidate looking to make a good and lasting impression at a top school. Apply by submitting a CV, and Teaching Personnel will arrange with the school interview and trial days, as well as handover meetings for a time that is convenient so that when school returns the candidate is as prepared as possible.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
