SEN Primary Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Mainstream Primary School in Huyton, Liverpool, who is looking for an experienced part-time or full-time Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who have learning difficulties and behavioural problems once they return in the new academic year. The school are looking for individuals to work with pupils in Year 3 and pupils in Year 5, so ideally you will have previous experience working with those age groups.

Being a SEN TA is both challenging and rewarding and the role is likely to vary hugely on a day to day basis. The tasks which a SEN TA carries out can include:

* Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
* Assessing the individual learning needs of pupils
* Evaluating and reporting pupils' progress to teachers, carers, healthcare professionals and anybody else who helps them
* Positively managing challenging behaviour and dealing with difficult situations
* Liaising with parents, carers and other professionals who work with the pupils
* Supervising activities such as trips locally.
* Working with teachers to find bespoke and individualised child centered education to help engage the young people in Education

The successful applicant will be required to complete and obtain a DBS check

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
