Are you committed to enable students to lead remarkable lives?

Are you passionate and ambitious about your own career development, Computer Science and Business Studies?

The Head Teacher of a popular secondary school in Bradford is currently seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of Computer Science and Business Studies to join his exciting department from September 2020 or sooner.

The department is a small, close knit department who share a passion for delivering computer science and business. Lessons take place in dedicated modern suites which are well resourced with desktop PCs, Macs, air conditioning and interactive white-boards.

A variety of websites and resources are used within the department including Python, Scratch and BBC Micro:bits. Google Drive is used to share resources within the department and Google Classroom is used for managing classwork and homework alike. The successful candidate MUST have experience with these and can teach both the computer science and business studies curriculum to KS4.

The teachers are passionate about both subjects and are always looking at ways to improve the curriculum, engage young people and teach computing and business principles in new and engaging ways. Partnership and co-ordination are very important in building a successful curriculum and we believe that increasing students' enjoyment and curiosity of the subject will enhance attainment and progress.

The role:

*Full time

*September start or sooner

*1 year contract

In year seven, students study computingand business studies for one hour a week and will study topics such as Scratch, Micro:bits and binary. In year eight, students study computing three times a fortnight and will study topics such as Python, sorting and searching and computer hardware.

Computer Science GCSE (OCR) is currently an option and students can select this at the end of year eight. Having three years at GCSE allows students to study programming in more depth during year nine and this also gives time for students to be inquisitive and enjoy the subject.
