A special school in Bradford are seeking a teacher to join their team this September.

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teacher, with a particular focus on teaching learners with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).

The school caters for pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of additional needs, and classes are small, grouped largely on pupil ability.

The successful applicant will be based within a specialist class for pupils with Autism. We are therefore seeking a teacher with experience planning and delivering lessons for young people on the Autism Spectrum. You will ideally have experience using the SCERTS or TEACCH models within your practice and will have a sound understanding of meeting the needs of ASC learners.

Key duties:

* To enable access to learning and social opportunities for pupils with ASC through the delivery of teaching, support, families and the young person with ASC
* To write/contribute to Individual Education Plans, setting and monitoring targets as required and attending reviews
* To write/contribute to reports as appropriate including reports for Statutory Assessment/Reviews
* To work within a multi-agency framework including partnership with the schools and parents
* To promote inclusion and inclusive practice through the delivery of INSET and development of appropriate school responses
* To work with Key partners in the Speech and Language Service, Educational Psychology Service, CAMHS and other Services
* To develop and maintain records of teaching, assessment, advice, meetings, planning and pupil progress
* To evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of intervention and support

This is a full-time, temporary role in the first instance, covering a maternity leave. However, there may be an opportunity to apply for a permanent role within school following a successful probationary period.
