Science Graduate Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Science graduate to join our Future Teachers Internship commencing September 2020.

The successful graduate will be introduced to a successful secondary school in South Manchester and will work as a Science specialist Teaching Assistant from September 2020 - July 2021.

This role is ideal for any graduates who are considering a career in teaching but wish to gain practical paid experience prior to enrolling on a teacher training course.

Responsibilities of this position will include:

- Offering in class support in Science lessons across years 7-11

- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs

- Running small group and one-to-one interventions to raise student attainment in Science

- Assisting in the planning and preparation of lessons

- Supervising lessons in the short term absence of teachers

Previous experience working with young people is desirable however we also welcome applications from graduates with relevant experience or a genuine desire to pursue a career in education.

This successful secondary school is an Ofsted graded Good school located in South Manchester. The school has over 1000 pupils on roll and caters to a diverse multi cultural and multi faith community. The school is a short drive from the city centre and is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
