Teaching personnel are looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work in a special needs school in Walthamstow. This is a welcoming, supportive school which is part of a multi academy of special needs schools all situated throughout East London , this will be working in their secondary school in a challenging yet rewarding role . This is a specialised role working within a KS4 class with pupils who have profound multiple learning difficulties and complex physical needs. The successful candidate will have previous experience working with either PMLD pupils in a SEN school / school based setting or have worked in care sector with physical disabilities , have manual handling experience and are able to support with personal care needs.

The school are looking for a passionate teaching assistant to provide consistency for pupils in class so there is the opportunity for a permanent contract for the successful candidate dependant upon performance.

KS4 PMLD Teaching assistant:

* Must have manual handling experience or training
* Able to deliver group or 1:1 support for pupils with complex learning and physical disabilities
* Must be able to support with nappy changing / toileting needs
* Full time role ; Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30 pm - term time only
* Be able to commit to traveling to Walthamstow daily

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
