The role

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Welsh Medium Primary School Teacher to teach in a lower KS2 Year 3 class in a school in the Gwent area on a full time basis. The position is to cover a Maternity Cover therefore there is a possibility the start date could be brought forward.

Medium term planning will have been completed prior to starting but the succesful candidate will be expected to complete all teacher duties including planning and assessing on a daily basis. Teaching Personnel are looking for a teacher who is an excellent classroom practitioner with a good knowledge of the national curriculum, Curriculum for Wales and the Literacy, Numeracy and DCF framework; has high expectations of learning and behaviour; is passionate about making a difference to the "whole" child an is willing to show a commitment to the wider life of the school and extracurricular activities and can communicate effectively through the medium of welsh to a high standard.

NI, Pension & Holiday Pay Contributions

Pension : Teaching Personnel automatically enroll each candidate into NOW Pensions.

NI: 12.8% of your annual salary

Holiday Pay: Your agreed rate is inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay

About the school

There are 10 mixed-age classes, including two part-time nursery classes, at the school. Welsh is the main medium of language at the school however only a very small percentage come from Welsh speaking background. The school has a wide catchment area, and pupils come from all parts of the county.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

-A recognised Teaching qualification including QTS

-Are registered with the education workforce council

-Be confident in teaching ICT

-To be fluent in Welsh, communicating verbally and in writing to a high standard.

-To be eager to join a happy and vibrant KS2 Welsh Primary school.
