Nursery Practitioner - Lewes

The Company

A friendly and family feel nursery based in the heart of Lewes are looking for an experienced Level 3 practitioner who is passionate about working with children. The nursery has great working atmosphere and provide opportunities for continued professional development for their staff.

The Role

The role involves providing a stimulating and age appropriate ways to play and the highest level of care and education for children attending the nursery. The position is for 25-30 hours weekly spread over a 5 day week.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and support children at all times
- Deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Prepare and supervise activities
- Maintaining Positive working relationships with children, staff, parents and carers.
- Implement all Company policies, procedures and operational practices.
- Ensure records are properly maintained
- Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Ensure that any changes to policies, procedures and operational practices are adhered to
- Attend regular staff meetings, planning meetings and undertake training as required.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that the company's values are maintained.


Skills & Requirements:

- Ideally would hold Level 3 or above qualification in Childcare
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
- Excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents.
- Ability to write reports and keep clear and accurate records.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Calm and caring nature
- Creative
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Able to work on own initiative
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible
- Able to perform under stress
- A good sense of humour
