Learning Support Assistant

I am currently working in partnership with an alternative provision for students aged 12 - 20 in Bradford, BD8 who are looking for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Behaviour Mentors to join their team in September to support with their rapidly increasing pupil numbers.

The school caters for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education on a temporary or permanent basis and provides an alternative education to help some of the most disengaged young people to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals. The schools aim is to promote learning and support students back into full time education, training or employment through a holistic approach that provides support, encouragement and patience to all its students. Learners who attend the school may have been excluded for a number of reasons including their social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH), their disruptive behaviour, their lack of engagement with mainstream education and would thrive better in a more vocational setting or due to their personal background at home or in care.

Students require continued support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential meaning you will be joining a staff team that are fully immersed in school life. You will be required to support students during lesson times, break times and with meal preparation at lunch time. All staff and students are fully involved in the running of the school, helping to provide students with structure and the sense of achievement.

The role and candidate:
