Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant with specific experience supporting pupils with Autism across KS3 / 4.

A School we work closely with are looking to appoint a hard working, resilient and empathetic Teaching Assistant to work closely with pupils who are on the Autism Spectrum. The School caters predominantly for those with ASC and they have specific staff and structures in place to help pupils learn and engage with the curriculum. Ideally the candidate will have experience using PECS, Makaton and / or be Team Teach trained but this isn't essential.

Your role will be to support the young people in the Autism Unit. The pupils will be mainly aged between 10 - 17 years of age and many of them are non - verbal or have trouble communicating. You must be patient, calm and compassionate towards the needs of the pupils and have strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills for when behaviour does become difficult.

The School is smaller than average and caters for approximately 40 pupils.

Pay for this role will be between �65 - 75 per day and candidates must be available full time in order to be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
