The successful candidate will be working in the R&D laboratory and will be responsible for spraying automotive panels as well as testing abrasives with robotic spray guns and robotic arms.

This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in repairing / restoring car’s privately or professionally and someone who has experience of spray-painting cars. They will look at candidates who is looking to make a break into the Automotive R&D environment. The client is willing to accept candidates from either A-Levels within A-C grade in Maths, English and a Scientific subject and is willing to learn and has a drive to succeed, or graduate from University.

* Good general house keeping for the lab and the equipment to ensure no contamination of paint products.
* The output of this department underpins a lot of decisions made for multi-million-pound contracts. You will need to be logical, focussed and have a keen attention to detail.

Skills Required:

* Due to the paints being used, the successful candidate will be needing to wear a ventilation mask for approximately 6-7 hours per day and will therefore be requested to pass a medical on site once they have been offered.
* R&D laboratory experience would be nice to have, although consideration will be given to candidates from a variety of backgrounds (Car repair body shop / Manufacturing & Production / interest outside of work such as working on cars in their spare time). Training provided for right person for the role.
* Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Outlook. Need to be competent with file storage so that testing reports are not lost.

Shift core hours: 8am-4pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-3pm Friday. Opportunity for OT is available, and flexibility desired as they may be required to come in a bit earlier or stay a bit later on some days dependant on the tests being carried out (should only be 2 hours either way, e.g. 6.30am start, or 6pm finish).
