Digital Media Network Editorial Manager - London

Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience.

Contract: Full time, Permanent

My client, a uniquely positioned brand and community that lives at the nexus of sports, lifestyle, and entertainment with the vision to be the worlds leading and adventure sports community are now looking to welcome a Digital Media Network Editorial Manager within their organisation at their offices in London. They are looking for someone to oversee and manage the editorial side of their digital media network. They operate and thrive across three main divisions, namely, Destinations, Events and Media & marketing.

Headquartered in London, with various offices worldwide my client serves its clients with a multinational presence. Passionate and independent, the company's diverse and talented team use, their industry knowledge and extensive network to design, develop and deliver some of the worlds most innovative and spectacular destinations, events and brand campaigns.

Role and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be experienced in overseeing an editorial team capable of delivering outstanding content on a daily basis. The success of this company originates from its pioneering approach and quick action finger on the pulse. You will be responsible for working on the brand positioning, sourcing and posting viral news and videos from around the world. Youll be driving and leading the vision and overall performance running both staff, freelance subs and interns, to produce a polished product on time and in budget and in return, you can look forward to all of the responsibility and involvement providing you with a rewarding and fast paced career with excellent progression opportunities.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Setting the highest of editorial standards for you and the team to follow
- Leading the writing and editing as required working across creative, copy writing, scheduling and reporting
- Ensuring all facts are checked and that all grammar, punctuation, spelling etc. are on point
- Writing authentic heads and sells, clever captions and picking the most engaging pull quotes
- Creating a production schedule to ensure smooth production of content
- Chasing clients, commissioning editors and contributors when necessary to ensure the schedule is adhered to
- Booking freelance subs as necessary, while staying within budget
- Sending pdfs to partners and liaising with them about any changes
- Liaising with the business development team and advertising department.


Essential Skills & Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years in a full time Editorial Role
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal ?
- Demonstrate significant sub-editor experience of a global lifestyle network
- Experience of digital publishing/editorial
- Demonstrable competence in independent writing and editing
- Strong people and performance management skills with a proven track record
- Demonstrate complete understanding of business plans and goals and proven ability to make a serious contribution to the business future
- Excellent design, typography and layout skills
- Proven journalistic skills in spotting and developing stories/themes.
- Strong Office 365/Microsoft Office
