Teaching Personnel are looking for a behaviour specialist for a client secondary school in Gateshead.

This role will involve working in the school behaviour unit, specifically working with pupils who have been excluded from lessons.

The Academy itself enjoys a positive reputation in the area, with high levels of attainment. They have an excellent Support Staff structure in place, led by the SENCO, to ensure that all staff receive the attention they deserve. All support staff have a preplanned timetable that allows for preperation time as well as a level of flexibility depending on the needs of learners and staff alike.

The Role:

Commencing in November until at least Christmas, with the potential of going permanent
Working with pupils aged between 11 - 16
Part-running the exclusion unit within the school alongside a supportive department
Additional responsibilites: supporting the pupils in other activities across the school
Main aim to support students across the school and eventually have them back in main classes

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience of supporting children in a secondary education setting
Be a qualified Teaching Assistant to Level 2 ideally
Experience communicating with Class Teachers to formulate plans supporting in specific areas
SEN knowledge to identify pupils who may need extra support
