Position Overview:
This role is initially a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.
The Finance Director (UAE) will lead and manage the in-country Finance & commercial processes associated with the UAE business and major projects. You will control and help develop the company’s annual operating budget to ensure all financial targets are met and financial and statutory regulations are adhered to.
The role will report directly to the General Manager with a dotted line to the relevant Project Delivery Director. You will also liaise closely with the UK Head of Project Finance and provide financial advice and guidance to the Exec Team and the General Manager to enable them to achieve their objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Managing the finance, procurement, and business services (Data & Security, ICT and Quality Management) teams
Managing accounting, procurement and task management systems and methods
Analysing and reporting on financial performance
Overseeing audit and tax functions including the implementation and compliance of VAT and corporate tax regulations
Oversee the UAE Procurement & supplier purchase order and payment processes – ensure payments are made in line with contracts and deliverables
Enforcing financial strategies and regulations
Liaising with financial and legal partners, suppliers, and governmental bodies
Overseeing budgeting, reporting, and forecasting
Budget risk management – monitor delivery budgets & ensure correct information is provided to the Exec Team for master budget management
Cashflow forecasting & Treasury Management – provide regular outlook on cash flow requirements & timing
Assessing, managing, and minimizing risk
Overseeing Quality Management, including internal controls business wide
Oversee Contract management – ensure client processes are followed to minimise risk, especially regarding change management and client payment
Line manage and conduct monthly 121’s with direct reports
Implementing cost reductions where possible and driving continuous improvement activities in accordance with findings from continuous improvement reporting
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounts or Finance (CA/CFA advantageous)
Previous experience in a similar role
Experience of working in UAE (KSA advantageous)
Proven track record of Executive Management experience
Proficiency in accounting software
Ability to present information clearly and concisely
Excellent level of computer literacy skills, particularly with regards to databases and Microsoft applications
Proven organisational and analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Commercial contract management experience
Project budget management experience
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work in a customer focused manner
