I am currently recruiting for a Recruitment Manager to join a Local Authority in West London on a contract basis.
The main purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of the in-house recruitment service to meet the needs of a diverse range of services across the council.
You will assess the effectiveness of the current operating model including an assessment of the structure, roles and processes to inform the future operating model.
Main duties will include:
- Managing a team of staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery.
- Ensuring recruitment activities are managed in line with key performance indicators and mechanisms are in place to provide regular feedback to internal customers on the team’s performance against these.
- Developing a Business Partner relationship with recruiting managers and the wider HR community by providing trusted, professional advice and consultancy to ensure the delivery of a seamless and strategic service that is tailored to individual service needs, as appropriate.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of projects and initiatives that improve the recruitment service. Examples include introduction of new systems, processes and practices and adapting the target operating model to maximise effectiveness of the service
- Researching, developing and implementing innovative and tailored attraction and onboarding strategies which are cost-effective and attract quality candidates.
- Conducting a SWAT analysis of roles, processes and ways of working to identify options for change
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- CIPD Qualified (membership or graduate membership) OR currently studying for graduate membership OR able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge through significant recruitment and selection experience.
- Detailed working knowledge of recruitment and selection best practice.
- Experience of improving recruitment and selection service delivery to support organisational objectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person with a wide range of internal and external contacts including senior managers, applicants, potential employees, advertising agencies, media.
- Ability to engender trust and confidence and demonstrate probity and integrity in the provision of advice and support at a senior level.
- Confidence and ability to challenge the status quo.
