SEMH Teaching Assistant - Primary

East Ham, London

Contract, Full Time

Are you looking to support children in care with school subjects and wellbeing whilst they are not in mainstream education? We are looking for resilient individuals with a passion for teaching to provide 1:1 and small groups sessions alongside FQ Teachers?

Responsibilities include:

* Designing and implementing curriculum, ensuring lessons cater for the needs of the whole class
* Monitoring progress and providing feedback to parents
* Collaborating with support staff and outside agencies compliance You will be required to teaching the primary curriculum
* Ensuring you are also supporting the social and emotional development of the children
* Adhere to the school policies in place

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will be:

* Have experience in supporting students with SEN or SEMH
* Have experience in supporting ASD, ADHD and a range of other needs
* Be a pro-active and compassionate individual
* Have experience in working alongside PECS and visual aids
* Knowledge of Makaton is highly desirable
* Must hold right to work in the UK
* Hold a current Child only DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
