We are looking to hire a Sourcing Buyer who will represent Foodbuy on a key client project, ensuring innovative & fit for purpose products & services are sourced that deliver competitive advantage for Compass & excellent value for money for the client. You will also support with the creation of bid materials, presenting to clients & mobilisation after contract award. You will work very closely with the Category Management teams, particularly the Supplies, Equipment & Services (SES) team & will have a ‘dotted line’ into the Head of SES to ensure alignment on approach & to receive support through the sourcing/procurement process. • Day to day management of the end-to-end procurement process & related tasks within the client project • Full understanding of the client pricing model in combination with product/service comparisons • Procurement of products & services – more complex and challenging than product sourcing • Co-ordination of RFQs/RFPs for products & services across various categories via multiple vendors. To include research, understanding of the supplier landscape, engagement of suppliers & running competitive tenders via the Foodbuy Procurement Framework (FPF) where applicable • Cross category working – food, retail and non-food. • Working as part of a wider cross-sector project team, developing positive working relationships with internal & external stakeholders including alignment on approach with the Operations and Sales teams • Procurement with a client focus (MAP1) – creating custom client solutions with a focus on innovation. • Client facing – site tours, client engagement & presenting through process. • Bid support – provision of information to support the technical responses in the bid. • Management of financials – details of all deals maintained & provided to the bid finance team. • Mobilisation support following contract award • 2+ years working in a procurement team. • Results oriented & analytical. • Understanding of the FPF • Experience of participation in sourcing events • Good negotiation & influencing skills. • Good understanding of the end-to-end supply chain • Working understanding of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) standards • Excellent team player with an infectious ‘Can Do’ attitude. • Strong people skills & able to listen/communicate/present effectively at all levels of an organisation. • Comfortable working in a pressurised, fast paced, cross-functional and deadline driven environment. • Able to effectively plan & manage multiple workstreams concurrently. • Looking to further procurement skills in a role that also offers ‘sharp end’ operational experience. • High level of Excel skills would be advantageous as would the ability to organize & analyse complex data sets.
