We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic SAP Developer to join our IT team based in Solihull, West Midlands. Flexible/Hybrid working available. 

In this role you'll ensure the effective delivery of expert application systems integration, development & high quality support within our SAP environment and will work effectively with other developers and analysts in the team. 

In addition you'll also use your demonstrable technical & systems knowledge to understand business requirements and translate them into high quality technical specifications, that lead to exemplary business solution delivery. 

You'll also promote and adhere to corporate development standards as part of this role.

 

Main ResponsibilitiesMain responsibilities

 

In this role you'll:

Work as a specialist ABAP developer for business change projects and enhancements across the SAP landscape, including but not limited to SD, Logistics, Finance, Operations, HR and Payroll and integration
Ensure corporate development standards are consistently applied 
Utilise and deploy your key development specialisms to deliver value to the business 
Provide user support as and when required
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external suppliers and stakeholders 
Ensure compliance to all policies and use your demonstrable experience and determination to minimise the risk of defects and production outages 
Create high quality technical specifications to ensure right-first-time developments are delivered 
Drive to improve development processes and standards 
Promote the use of standard functionality over bespoke 
Regularly develop your personal skillset in line with emerging technologies and advise and propose innovative solutions to business problems 
Ensure compliance with Internal Control processes and procedures


The Ideal CandidateExperience & qualifications

To be successful in this role you'll need:


Significant ABAP development experience, including the delivery of at least 3 major projects and change using advanced ABAP skills
To be a recognised SAP ABAP developer subject matter expert and have experience of Java, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 
To be accredited by relevant software vendors – SAP specific qualifications relevant and ABAP certified
Experience in creating ABAP Proxies and RFC debugging  
Experience in the configuration and support of IDOC, RFC, JDBC, File, Proxy, SOAP, HTTP, REST adapters  
SAP Odata knowledge 
Experience of managing large-scale changes across a complex & dynamic SAP System Landscapes  
Experience in interfacing SAP with 3rd party systems  
SAP functional knowledge of various SAP modules e.g. FI, MM, SD, HR, Payroll  
Experience of structured systems development and project management methodologies  
Experience in integration requirements gathering  
To be adept at defining & building system solutions from business requirements 
Creative systems design and rigorous implementation experience
A proven ability and aptitude to explore and learn new technologies released by SAP  
Excellent presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex solutions to a non-technical audience
Experience in ECC to S/4 Hana transition
To have a sound understanding of the key business processes
 Demonstrable problem analysis and solving skills 
To be adept at producing high quality documentation 
To be process orientated - capable of quality process mapping 
To have a willingness to learn and develop.


In addition, it is would also be desirable if you have:


A degree in Computer Science, software development or a similar qualification 
A good knowledge of SAP PI/PO (CPI) and Web Services, SOAP and REST
Exposure to SAP MDG and CPQ
Exposure to Commerce Cloud
SAP BPM experience and Process Modelling with BPMN  
A working knowledge of B2B and EDI standards  
Exposure to SAP Gateway  
ITIL Certification/awareness
