About the Role
As a Fire & Security Alarm Systems Design Estimator, you'll create accurate project proposals and as a Design Engineer be able to design Fire Alarm systems to L and P standards. Your expertise in fire alarm and security system design is crucial for high-quality solutions.
Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:
* Design and develop fire & security system solutions tailored to meet specific project requirements, considering client needs, industry best practices, and applicable regulations.
* Provide compliant quotations and designs based on information provided to the latest BAFE BS5839-1&6&9 and NSI standards.
* Create detailed system designs on CAD, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications, for various components such as fire alarms, aspirating systems, wireless fire alarm, access control, IP CCTV, intrusion alarm systems, perimeter detections systems, full networking architecture, barriers, and turnstiles.
* Evaluate and select appropriate products and technologies based on project requirements, budget constraints, and industry standards with support from management.
* Prepare accurate project estimates, including material and labour costs,
* Support the project team to oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of security systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
* Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and technicians to coordinate system installation and resolve technical issues.
* Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during system integration, troubleshooting, and commissioning stages.
* Stay updated with the latest fire & security technologies, industry trends, and regulations to provide innovative and effective system designs.
* Document design specifications, installation procedures, and system configurations for future reference and knowledge sharing.
About you
We would like to hear from you if you have:
* A working knowledge of Fire Alarm (BS5839-1 & 6 & 9) and CCTV (BS50132-7) standards.
* Proven experience in fire & security system design, integration, and implementation.
* Experienced with CAD software, e.g. Autodesk, mozaik, blue-beam or others.
* Previous experience in a role communicating directly to customers.
* Ability to travel to project sites as needed for system assessments, installation oversight, and troubleshooting.
