We have an exciting opportunity to join our Keynsham service as a Band 5 Community Nurse based at our Keynsham Health Centre location.
You will join a caring and supportive team of Community Nurses and Healthcare Assistants where individual development and progression is key and teamwork is at the centre. You will also work alongside the Reablement team, Community Matrons and specialist nurses in a multi-disciplinary atmosphere. The service is located right (at the end of) the high-street with a range of shops and Sainsbury’s and Tesco situated nearby. The service also has its own dedicated car park.
We are open to both full time and part time hours with service hours typically being 8.00am - 5pm Monday to Friday with one in every 4 weekends. Your focus will be to offer advice and support to housebound service users in their own homes to promote their well-being and independence. You will also be offered a flexible role where you can work your own diary to provide continuity of care. There may also be the opportunity to support in a weekly leg ulcer clinic.

Main Responsibilities“When I joined the community I assumed the majority of my workload would be wound care but it’s quite the opposite, my skills have widened massively and my confidence has grown. I love the variety each day brings and being able to see the positive changes I can make to our service users.”
As a Band 5 Community Nurse for the Keynsham team, you will mainly cover the Keynsham and Saltford area, as well as a few villages.
To complete the duties of the role a Driver’s license and access to a car is necessary.
As a Community Nurse you will:
Responsible for contributing to the holistic assessment, planning delivery and evaluation of care to patients within their own homes.
To develop and implement programmes of care
Advise and recommend treatment by liaising with GP's and other specialists within the multidisciplinary team
To take charge in the absence of senior grade staff
Administration of medication – s/c, im, pr, IV, transdermal, oral, controlled drugs, along with palliative care, wound care and IV therapy.
The Ideal CandidateYou will:
Be an NMC Registered Nurse or a newly qualified nurse
Have a full UK driving license with access to a car for work purposes.
Can work both independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Have strong communication and organisation skills and a flexible approach
