Package DescriptionCompetitive salary plus benefits.Monday to Friday working pattern, 40 hours per week.Site based but option for some Hybrid working to be discussed at interview stage.Job Introduction A fantastic opportunity has arisen within HMP Lowdham Grange to join our prisons Psychology team as a Forensic Psychologist in Training.The Psychology Department at HMP Lowdham Grange is in the process of exciting and progressive redevelopment. As a Forensic Psychologist you will join us in leading and developing a range of innovative plans including the development of a psychologically led unit and the strengthening of multi-disciplinary working to support our prisoners, presenting significant opportunity for personal growth and continuing professional development. We also recognise the valuable impact of your skills in training and consultancy in developing and supporting our staff through this period of change.As a Forensic Psychologist you will work closely with the Head of Psychology to develop and promote the psychological services within the Prison and work collaboratively with the Psychology Team and external stakeholders.You will help to support a team of Forensic Psychologists in Training and will support team members with their caseloads, whilst also maintaining direct contact with prisoners with complex needs including those whose early experiences have contributed to difficulties within their personality functioning and contributed to involvement in serious offending.We envisage that candidates will have relevant previous experience within prison establishments, although we will consider those whose experience lies within the Forensic Mental Health field. Does this sound like something you’d like to be part of?For more information on Sodexo Careers please visit Sodexo Careers and Careers in JusticeMain ResponsibilitiesCompletion of Parole Reports, indeterminate sentenced prisoner reports, reports for Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) and Parole Board Reviews.Responsible for forensic assessments, formulations and inputting into psychological treatment interventions with prisoners.Participating in processes where an individual’s risk of harm to self or others is determined and managed i.e. attending Assessment Care in Custody Teamwork (ACCT) meetings for prisoners and providing advice and support to prisoners and staff. Developing and contributing to new Offending Behaviour Programmes (OBP) and ensuring psychological oversight and input where required.Delivering training on issues such as managing behaviours, personality disorder and sharing information on complex case formulations with relevant teams to assist prisoner management.Interview and select prisoners to assess their suitability for accredited programmes and other interventions.Prepare for and co-facilitate (usually more complex) programmes, complete reports and set objectives for prisoners following completion of the programme. The Ideal CandidateWhilst we encourage all applicants to apply for this role, candidates will be expected to enrol on one of the contracted accredited Qualifications in forensic psychology which will support them to achieve registered forensic psychologist status with the HCPC.  It would be a bonus if you have:1 year of experience of working in secure settings.Knowledge of psychological theory in working with individuals with personality disorder, involvement in violent behaviour, and have knowledge of the potential needs of neurodiverse people.Experience of achieving Key Performance Targets. About The Company Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
