The successful Support Worker will assist people who are within the autistic spectrum some with additional Learning Disabilities. Enabling them to maximize their potential and develop life skills across multiple activities. The successful Support Worker will work as part of a team to help those in your care to help them achieve their own life goals, through person-centred planning.This role is well suited to someone with previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, or Carer. Caring for Autistic individuals, or those with Learning Disabilities in a healthcare setting. Peldon:Autism Anglia’s Peldon location accommodates individuals within the autistic spectrum, some with additional Learning Disabilities as part of Autism Anglia’s Adult services. Enabling all individuals to participate in various physical activities such as walking, swimming, shopping, and general socialising in the wider community. Including planning and attending person-centred annual holidays and days out.Support workers at Peldon recognise the aspirations of, and work towards enabling, the people we support and help them to achieve their own life plans and develop life skills, through person-centred planning. This will include being actively involved in empowering them to make individual choices about their everyday living. The role:Working in partnership with the team to provide a strengths-based, outcome-focused approach for all individuals.Maintain the dignity, respect and privacy of each individual supported by assisting them with personal care, health and hygiene-related activities, which may involve sport and leisure, cultural and recreational activities including day trips, short breaks or holidays.Assist individuals with communication support tasks, psychological monitoring, or intervention and sensory support tasks.Ensure that the quality of support given meets the identified need m and that all relevant documentation is regularly reviewed, evaluated and amended as necessary.Keep up-to-date and clear and accurate records and support plans/ risk assessments to reflect each individual’s requirements.Know, understand and work within Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults procedures, ensuring all concerns are acted on and dealt with according to policy and procedure Applications are welcome from Support workers who:Ability to manage emotionally and physically challenging situations and behaviours.Previous experience working as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader, Healthcare Assistant or Carer, preferably with Autism or Learning DisabilitiesAbility to identify the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals who may have communication needs.Experience in working with people with Autism and intensive behavioural support.Experienced with activity co-ordination, knowledge of opportunities in surrounding areasGood range of communication skills To Apply:If you have a genuine passion for supporting and uplifting others, your outstanding future at Autism Anglia could be moments away.
