People can explore a wide range of local vacancies that are updated daily and access training opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Pathways to Employment Team and make a real difference to the lives of adults and young disabled people with learning disabilities, autism/neurodiverse, physical disabilities and other people who also face major barriers when it comes to gaining employment.
The Pathways to Employment Team is part of the Skills, Employment and Adult Education Service. We work in partnership with the Council’s SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Team to ensure that our residents have choice and control, good quality support and the opportunity to progress through a range of employment pathways. We support individuals by helping them to develop their employment skills and progress into meaningful, sustainable and good quality employment opportunities.
You will support individuals on our study programmes which includes supported internships, working with them to identify their skills, experience and aspirations. Supporting individuals to develop their employment skills, including independent travel and then working with other members of the team to identify appropriate employment pathways.
Your role will be to support individuals to access employment related opportunities and become independent in their roles and provide the necessary coaching, training and encouragement to enable them to succeed. This will include getting to know each individual, helping to match them to the right opportunities and then providing them with on-the-job training and support in the workplace. You will also liaise with the young person’s family, education provider and other people involved in their life to ensure that the support you provide is tailored to the young person’s needs.
We have 3 posts to recruit to:
1 x 37 hours - term time only- permanent
1 x 37 hours term time only - fixed term
1 x 25 hours - term time only fixed term*
* The post has been created predominantly to support a specific young person who has a visual impairment, providing them with one-to-one support both in the workplace and in the classroom throughout the academic year and enabling them to access a supported internship programme.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

You will be able to work flexibly, travelling to different locations. This role may occasionally involve early starts, late finishes or working at weekends depending on the support needs of your customers and employers. You will be involved in agreeing and setting up support so will have advance notice of when flexible working will be required.
