About The Company
Occupational Therapist  (Term time only, 32 hours per week)
Beaumont College is a very special place and we are seeking to extend our work-family in response to increased demand for places at the college. If you have as passion to support some of the most vulnerable special school leavers to fulfil their potential, through support for the planned, high-quality delivery of learning, this role is for you.

About The Role
£35,000 - £46,000 FTE - £25,000 - £32,000 for a 32 hours per week. Term Time only.
Must be HCPC Registered and experienced in the NHS in the UK.
We are seeking to appoint an Occupational Therapist committed to working with young people and their families to reach their full potential in all aspects of occupational performance across their time at college over the 3-year duration of their studies. Our students love to come to college, and they celebrate that they achieve what so many others around them did not believe they were capable of! You will be part of an experienced and skilled team of OTs, as well as being part of a transdisciplinary education, health and care team – which is absolutely student centred in all that they do.
Our ideal candidate will have a passion for making a difference for young disabled people in becoming as independent as possible. Once probation is complete, support is available through training to formalise this. Opportunities for continuing professional development in the area of post graduate training in sensory integration and sensory processing will be a focus.
You will be creative and able to support teachers to adapt learning to support learning and personal development. Learners are commonly in small groups for their education, with high levels of support.
Our educational pathways are highly personalised and alongside Preparing for Adult Hood, learners will each have a bespoke package of health and support interventions including physio and hydrotherapy, and speech and language therapy, access to a skilled and experienced team of assistive technologist, and positive behaviour practitioners.
Vocational themes of learning support students to make progress, both educationally and in self-advocacy, confidence, self-belief and resilience in preparation for life beyond college in busy and fulfilling destinations.
For an informal conversation about this role please email our Lead OT Kathryn Slaughter – kathryn.slaughter@beaumontcollege.ac.uk to arrange an appointment.
