It is important that our staff reflect the diversity of our community, and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders and sexual orientation, those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, and those with disabilities. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work across the Prep School.The LSA will be an active member of the SEND Team, working under the direction of the SENDCO (Prep). The LSA is expected to plan, implement and review a variety of intervention groups for pupils who require extra support, including those with SEND. They will support the SENDCO (Prep) with pupil observation, tracking and monitoring, as well as liaising with parents and teachers on pupil’s individual targets and progress. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with children. They will be warm, creative and able to demonstrate initiative, dealing calmly with different situations as they arise. The Prep School is situated in the rural location of Wheathampstead village, only 5 miles from St Albans. As a rapidly growing school community, it is an exciting and innovative time in the Prep School’s history. This is a permanent position offered on a full-time basis, 5 days per week, term time plus 1 week (36 weeks per year).
