Mortuary Attendant40 hours per week.Salary £28,524.60 per annum.The Pure family is a group of Companies that specialises in Pure Cremation, and Pure Cremation Funeral Planning – we are very proud that our Company Pure Cremation Limited is one of the UK’s leading independent providers of direct cremations, and our Pure Funeral Planning Company was the bestselling provider of Funeral Plans in the UK in 2021.We have incredibly talented teams who provide the highest standard of care to our customers and their loved ones, and this isn’t just what we think…. it’s what our fantastic 15,000 customer 4.9* Trustpilot reviews think too.We have grown rapidly since 2015 and are now looking to recruit additional members to the Mortuary Team, based at both our sites at Charlton Park Crematorium and West Way, Andover.The ideal applicant will ideally have experience of working in the funeral sector although this is not essential. This post will be Mon-Fri, with core hours 8.30-5.00, however this role may require flexibility to cover weekends and bank holidays covering annual leave and unexpected circumstances, as part of a highly specialised team.The main purpose of the role is to facilitate our frontline mortuary care, receiving clients into care from our operatives' team or trade customers.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Helping to en-coffin our clients and allocating mortuary bays using the bay allocation technology to register location in the clients unique CRM record.Conducting all necessary ID checksProcessing all associated paperworkAssisting our crematorium team in the preparation of clients for the cremation process, conducting identification checks and following any special instructions given by the applicant relating to personal effects and jewelleryTo assist in the preparation of repatriated clients for cremation and to dispose of associated zinc lining in accordance with company policyCataloguing and recording all personal effects and jewellery and updating the mortuary registerEnsuring the safe and secure transfer of the deceased from our receiving mortuary to our resting care centre prior to cremationEnsuring the safe and secure transit of all valuables from our receiving mortuary to our resting care centre prior to cremationPreparing and placing nameplates where appropriate for clients where families have selected an attended serviceYou will liaise and work closely with the Deputy Mortuary Manager in order to report the requirement for maintenance or repair of specialist equipment utilised in the mortuaryYou will be responsible for cleanliness of our mortuary areas and ensure that appropriate clinical waste protocols are followedYou will be responsible for completing daily records to confirm cleaning rotas have been followed and completedYou will assist in receiving essential stock items – training will be provided where necessaryYou will monitor and record stock levels and be responsible for reporting depleted stock to the Deputy Mortuary Manager for their attentionYou will ensure that all personnel working in and around the mortuaries act appropriately and enforce company expectations relating to behaviours at all timesKey skills requirement:You will assist in receiving essential stock items – training will be provided where necessaryYou will monitor and record stock levels and be responsible for reporting depleted stock to the necessary managerYou will ensure that all personnel working in and around the mortuaries act appropriately and enforce company expectations relating to behaviours at all timesThere is a requirement to transport clients within our care between mortuaries, so a full manual driving license is essentialYou will need to be physically fit as the role is physically demanding one and involves significant manual handling. You must also be resilient with the role requiring a high level of emotional maturity.You will also be smart in appearance, respectful and empathetic towards the deceased and the families that we serve.The successful applicant will hold a full manual valid full driving licence and be willing to travel across the whole of England and Wales and be subject to a DBS (Criminal Records) check.You will be physically fit as the role is physically demanding and involves manual handling.
