Arnold House is a five bedded residential home housing young people between 7-17 with autism spectrum disorder and learning disabilities. We are a small home, so we encourage a “family feel” where possible, this involves eating our meals together, creating positive relationships and supporting our residents. We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and experienced person to join our staff team of Night Care Supervisors.

Night Wake Supervisors work on a rota basis, with 2 nights on duty 22:00-08:00 and 4 nights off.

Please note that annual pay will be pro-rata, the hourly rate is £12.38 and on top of this enhancements are paid for the unsocial hours. There are also opportunities to pick up additional shifts if you want to earn more.

Although previous experience within a similar setting and qualifications would be beneficial, it is not essential as we provide all the training required to help our employees have the best start in their career. If you demonstrate a willingness to learn we will give you the tools you need to succeed.

What will you be doing?
Assisting day staff in settling children at bedtime and waking them for school.
Dealing with children who wake in the night, who may be frightened or whose behaviour may be challenging and helping them to settle.
Maintaining accurate notes in the homes log’s and writing incident reports as required
Undertaking a range of light domestic duties such as setting table, emptying dishwasher, washing tea towels.
You will work alongside a sleep-in member of the team sharing responsibility.

About you
You are confident interacting with young people; having either work, voluntary or personal experience. 
You are a confident communicator who finds it easy to relate to colleagues and young people
You maintain accurate records and solve problems, using good verbal or written reasoning.
You are confident working through the night taking responsibility for the security of the building and the care of our young people 


The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS clearance and two suitable references.
