Apprentice (Governance Services)(RP0106)Fixed term for 24 months Starting salary £23,806pa with potential progression to £24,192pa on achieving designated skills and experience37 hours a week (including some evening meetings)In this newly created Apprentice (Governance Services) role, we are looking for someone who is interested in supporting the administration of the Council’s decision-making process and in information management. You will be working alongside colleagues at all levels, ensuring the Council meets it statutory compliance.In this role, you will:Act as first point of contact for the team in relation to governance. Taking calls and arranging follow up action, resolving queries where possible.Manage mailboxes for Democratic Services and Information Governance.Assist in co-ordinating and redacting responses for subject access requests and freedom of information requests.Maintain accurate and up to date records in relation to subject access requests and freedom of information requests.Attend the Chair’s briefings and producing scripts for formal meetings of the Council.Draft minutes and liaising with officers and committee chairs to ensure accuracy.This is a great opportunity to develop your career by joining an experienced team, where you will learn from those working around you in developing your knowledge along with your people skills.The Ideal Candidate:Grade 4 or equivalent GCSE in Maths and EnglishWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointCollaborative team playerAbility to work under own initiative and manage time effectivelyFlexible and adaptable to changing requirementsStrong communication skills, verbal and writtenOrganised, proactive and ability to prioritise workloadWe are looking for someone who is keen and quick to learn with drive and enthusiasm to learn new skills.
